After the sell-out success of last year’s critically acclaimed Crimes Against Christmas, the Lichfield Garrick are delighted to be once again teaming up with award-winning theatre company New Old Friends to create an alternative Christmas comedy for adults.
Crimes on the Christmas Express is inspired by Agatha Christie, 39 Steps and Jason Bourne, taking the audience on a hilarious and thrilling train journey through the snow-capped mountains of the East. On board are jewel thieves, circus performers, lovelorn porters, sleazy Americans and countless other characters all brought to life by a cast of just four.
The Lichfield Garrick and New Old Friends are delighted to announce that Emma Longthorne and Katie Haygarth will be starring in Home for Christmas this festive season.
The show which is perfect for children aged 2 – 7 years old follows the quest of a mother, wobbling under the weight of her enormous Christmas tree and a to do list longer than her arm as she aims to make it ‘Home for Christmas.’ Along the way she helps a host of lovable and amusing characters; clumsy sheep, lost birds, stranded farmers and mayors in a pickle. Can she help them all and still get home before the snow is due?
Emma Longthorne who trained at the East 15 Acting School and has worked on productions including The Comedy of Errors (Open Bar Theatre) Lily and the Little Snowbear (Blunderbus Theatre Company), and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (Manchester Actors Company) will be playing the role of the farmer, sheep, lost ducks and the mayor.
Katie Haygarth will be taking on the role of Mum. Katie, who trained at LAMDA has worked both in television and theatre including Mr Wroe's Virgins (BBC), Where the Heart is (ITV), The Very Hungry Caterpillar (West End, UK Tour & Dubai), In The Night Garden Live (The O2 & UK Tour 2013 & 2015) and The Wizard Of Oz (National Theatre, Abu Dhabi).
Make sure you don’t miss out and book your one-way ticket to hilarity and have a great night out with friends away from the kids, or a perfect end of year treat with the office.
