New Funding For 14-18s
We’re delighted to announce that Lichfield Garrick Theatre has received funding from the Conduit Trust which means we can now reduce the cost of 14-18 year olds taking part in our new weekly Young Garrick Youth Theatre to £50 per term!
Jonny McClean our Head of Community Engagement says:
"It’s brilliant to be able to subsidise the membership costs for one of our youth theatre groups. We know that young people aged 14-18 years can face a range of complex barriers to participation in the arts, and being able to reduce the financial pressures they’re facing is a fantastic win in our book. If you’re considering joining our 7-11 years or 11-14 years groups and finances are a challenge, do not worry! Whilst there’s no generic subsidy in place, we still have funded places available, meaning you can get involved at reduced or no cost at all! Our aim is to get as many young people learning new creative skills and making new friends at the Garrick as possible!"
Lichfield Garrick Theatre recently launched a brand-new weekly youth theatre programme for 2024. We want to champion every young person’s unique brand of creativity, so we’ve set up a variety of new groups, each targeted at a particular age-range and designed to support participants to expand their knowledge of theatre, become creative, curious and confident, and connect with others who share their interests.
Our experienced industry professionals will guide you through a variety of exciting sessions, covering topics like voice training, comedy, working with script, improvisation, theatre design, choreography, directing and much more. Throughout the year, you'll also have opportunities to showcase your talents in performances at the Garrick and in other venues. Step into the spotlight and have a blast along the way!
Calling all young creatives in Years 10-13 – put your creativity centre stage!
For our older participants, sessions are designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and experience you’ll need to pursue your creative goals, whether that’s a career in the arts or simply getting the most out of theatre-making as one of your hobbies.
Our team will introduce you to a world of theatre and performance, with opportunities to explore a range of new skills, onstage and offstage, from puppetry & clowning to lighting design & directing, the perfect way to nurture your talent and create something truly special.
