Last week we piloted a 'Wordless Theatre' night for multi-national groups at the Garrick.
The aim of 'Wordless Theatre' is to remove language barriers and allow a group of people from all backgrounds to take part in creative activities together. We had a fantastic time with our participants, starting with some singing, going on to some theatre and finishing with some folk dancing.
We invited along the members and families of our partner ESOL group and together with our wonderful facilitators had a very exciting and energetic night of fun!
Many thanks to funding from the New Communities Resettlement Fund awarded after we applied for funding in partnership with ESOL. The funding was for a consultation and pilot of activity with ESOL students around how their local theatre can engage with them.
