The Pocket Dream: Join Our Young Ensemble

Are you in school years 10-13? Have you always dreamed of performing on a stage in a professional production?

We have an opportunity for you! You are invited to audition to take part in our upcoming Lichfield Garrick Production: The Pocket Dream. This hilarious play is written by Elly Brewer and Sandi Toksvig, and is a reimagining of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Elly is best-known for writing the scripts of Tracy Beaker Returns and The Dumping Ground, and you'll recognise Sandi Toksvig as the host of QI, The News Quiz and The Great British Bake Off.

#GarrickPanto legends Sam Rabone and Ben Thornton will be leading the cast (and our young performers!) in this exciting in-house production. This is your chance to perform on the Garrick stage alongside the professionals!

Youth Cast Auditions - What to Expect

Auditions will be held week commencing Monday 10th February 2025 (see below for full details). 

These auditions are group workshop auditions. This means you will be auditioning alongside your peers and won't be expected to prepare any solo performances. The audition will be relaxed and will involve some movement activities. You don't need to prepare anything, just come to your audition in clothing you can comfortably move in. 

We have 24 places available. You will be split into 2 'teams' of 12 so we can rotate you between shows fairly. 

What do we need from you?

• You should be in year 10, 11, 12 or 13 at school currently
• Be available for at least 1 audition date(see below)
• Be available for all performances - you can view them here. You will not be required for every performance, once we have our group of young performers, we will allocate you a selection of shows
• Provide permission to use your image/video and name (this will only be used if you participate in the production)
