TrusteeWhat’s your connection to / interest in the Garrick?
As someone who has lived in Lichfield all my life, the Garrick has always been a place of cultural interest and where I first took to the stage in local theatre groups. Now, as someone working in the arts, I see the Garrick as a vital space for culture that can bring communities and artists together.
What’s your professional experience?
I am a Producer and Dance Artist based in Lichfield, experienced in inclusive and community-based projects and passionate about opening access, developing people and championing local.
I currently work for Anjali Dance Company, Ascendance (Dance with Parkinson’s), National Youth Ballet and co-direct an inclusive community dance company in Staffordshire called ‘That! Dance’.
Previously, I have worked on Critical Mass 2022 (as part of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games), Lichfield Festival, Birmingham International Dance Festival and People Dancing’s Live Well and Dance with Parkinson’s programme, as well as founding Arts Council funded Lichfield Screendance Festival and ‘Lichfield Dances’ (for Lichfield Festival).
What are you most excited about for the Garrick?
I am most excited about the direction the Garrick is heading with community engagement, as well as its commitment to the wider local cultural scene.
