“Helping out in the café has built my confidence. I’m more comfortable speaking to people. I used to be call ‘quiet boy’ at school but now I speak to all the public. I have a job interview coming up which I wouldn’t have gone for if I hadn’t gained confidence on my placement at the Garrick. It’s been ace - I give it one billion out of 100!”

Robbie, Supported Internship from Rodbaston College

“Thanks to my placement in the café I’ve gained more confidence and talk to everyone. I now travel to and from the building on my own, and my social skills are better. I have learnt how to multi-task and now make the tea at home! I help as a pot-washer in my local pub and I now have the confidence to ask for training on the bar and till.”

Katie, Supported Internship from Rodbaston College

" You don't know what you have done for me this year. I lost my hubby last year and coming here has given me a new life and I can face the world. The ladies in the choir are fantastic, I've made lovely friends. Thank you so much, Bless You! "

Janet, Member of the 'Morning Chorus' Community Choir. Morning Chorus has offered Janet an outlet for her grief and an opportunity to avoid becoming isolated. Over the past year Janet has become a positive presence in the
choir and has flourished within her new friendship group, even offering her own support
to friends within the group who have been going through similar experiences.
