Saturday 25th November, 1pm - 4pm | Stage Combat Workshop with Roger Bartlett (14-25)

Learn how to slap, punch, grapple and fight with your friends and fellow actors in this specialist workshop lead by Equity Fight Director Roger Bartlett.

You will discover how to make these seemingly violent and aggressive actions safe as well as believable for the audience in this three hour workshop. A constant emphasis is placed on safety and how to create the illusion of violence.

Taking care of yourself as well as your fellow actors is hugely important in a theatrical production, and this applies just as much in those moments when your character gets angry, upset or loses control in some way. This workshop will introduce you to some of the skills and techniques required to stay safe and entertaining in those highly emotional moments.

Get to grips with the Bard with this workshop from Jonny McClean. An experienced director, actor and adapter of Shakespeare’s works, learn how to make the most of Shakespeare’s writing, bring bold choices to the table, and how to turn seemingly obtuse language into clear dialogue. Whether you’ve performed Shakespeare before or its brand new to you, this workshop has something to offer.
