Lichfield Garrick Launches Brand-New Youth Theatre Offering in Lichfield!

The Lichfield Garrick Theatre is delighted to announce the launch of Young Garrick Lichfield, a brand-new youth theatre offering for the young people of Lichfield. The programme will launch in September 2024, providing access to the arts in a professional community theatre, for young people from 7 – 18 years old. Young Garrick Lichfield will be split into three age ranges, with appropriate programmes for each age group, all running alongside the school year. The theatre hopes to provide an affordable path into theatre and creativity to young people and their parents, as part of their philanthropy and outreach into the community, providing access to programmes such as these to young people and their families.
Young Garrick Junior (7-11 years) will take aspiring young superstars, in years 3 to 6, on a fun-filled adventure encouraging them to embrace the joys of creativity, build confidence and make friends. In the Lichfield Garrick’s vibrant and inclusive space, the sessions are designed to be engaging and exciting, with drama games and activities which will truly ignite the imaginations and personalities of these young people on stage. Young Garrick Junior is £125 per term.
Young Garrick Intermediate (11-14 years) will help talented young performers in years 7 to 9 take their creativity to the next level! These sessions are specially designed to help these young people build their performance skills, boost their confidence, and explore creativity both on and off stage. With many of these young people on the cusp of teenagerhood, the theatre is aware of the excitement and transformation that comes at this time and their team is on hand to inspire and support them every step of the way, nurturing creativity whilst fostering a welcoming and safe environment where participants can meet like-minded peers. Young Garrick Intermediate is £150 per term.
Finally, Young Garrick Senior (14-18 years) is for all young creatives in years 10 to 13, putting creativity center stage. For the older participants, sessions are designed to take your creative goals up a notch! Sessions will equip you with the skills, knowledge and experience you’ll need to pursue your dreams, whether it’s a career in the arts, or getting the most out of theatre-making as one of your hobbies. The Garrick’s team will introduce you to a world of theatre and performance, and truly give you an experience of the arts as a whole, so you will leave with the greatest insight of theatre-making, from puppetry and clowning, to lighting design and directing and all the tools to take your talents in any direction you choose! Young Garrick Senior is £175 per term.
