To celebrate the expansion of our Young Garrick membership into a larger age range, we're putting on a selection of summer workshops to give people a flavour of what's to come with our new Young Garrick Youth Theatre, starting from September.

Get Creative! - Intro to performing

10:00am - 11:30am - For ages 7-11

Ever thought about giving theatre a try? This is the perfect workshop to give it a go; in this engaging and inclusive workshop, we'll dive into the exciting world of performing whether you're a seasoned performer or brand new to the stage. Together, we'll explore various performing techniques, build confidence, and learn how to captivate an audience with your unique talents.

Our warm and vibrant instructors will guide you through dynamic exercises and fun activities including drama games and sneak peeks backstage.

Costume/Make-up Design

12:00pm – 2:00pm - For ages 11-14

During this workshop, you'll have the chance to roll up your sleeves and get creative! Come ready to explore your imagination as you design/build your own costumes, while also learning the ins and outs of quick-change trickery and going over the history of how iconic theatre looks & costumes are made.

Staging Imagination – Getting away from the ‘Kitchen Sink Drama’ 

2:30pm – 5:00pm - For ages 14-18

Are you ready to unleash your imagination and take your stage productions to new heights? Through the exploration of shadow, perspective, and physical movement, you'll gain invaluable insights into how to maximize the impact of limited resources. Our inclusive and engaging workshop is designed to provide you with the tools and inspiration to bring your stories to life, no matter the size of the stage.
